[Newsletter] May 2012 :Mentors, Mailing Lists and Multiple Choice
This month has been yet another whirl wind of activity at in2securITy HQ.
Mentoring registration success
Thanks to all of you who applied to be part of the in2securITy mentoring scheme for 2012/13. We were thrilled to have so much interest, even attracting an cheeky application from Estonia.
The closing date for this phase of applications has now passed and the first phase of proteges and mentors will kick off in the next couple of weeks.
If you missed out on applying this time, don't worry. You can still submit an application and we will pop you on the list for the next phase (dates to be confirmed).
Mentoring Competition Winner Announcement
On that note, we are thrilled to announce our first competition winner. Britta, an in2securITy protege and participant from Wellington is our first ever prize recipient and has won herself a copy of Bruce Schneier's latest book - Liars and Outliers. The book is even signed by the man himself.
Congratulations Britta!
New Mailing List coming soon!
You may have noticed that we are trying to get the in2securITy message out via every communication means possible. Somehow, despite our best efforts some people are still struggling to keep up to date.
As a result, we have a new managed mailing list coming soon. This list will be used to send out monthly article digests and advertise events. Don't worry, we won't spam your inbox.
Google Plus and Google Hangouts
The in2securITy team have been experimenting with new ways to teach tools and techniques.
Watch this space for upcoming test classes using the Google Hangouts and On-Air features. Classes will be streamed live and recorded simultaneously. You will be able to either watch live or watch them at at anytime from our youtube account.
(You may need a google account to watch live... just saying)

Auckland Social
The second Auckland in2securITy social came and went. Beer and merriment was had by all. Thanks go out to those who came along and for the awesome Empire Tavern.
Help us communicate better
Finally, you may have noticed the funky poll in the right hand column. We want to know how you prefer to hear from us....
Until next time...
The in2securITy team.
