The time has come for in2securITy to embark on the final phase of our annual adventure - the Summer project.

Before we launch into details and the application process - its time to put a call out to businesses, professionals and organisations for this years placements and projects.

So, what are we after?

Projects

A project is a distinct task or objective that can be completed by an in2securITy participant remotely and delivered to you or your organisation.

Projects should be well defined and take 4-6 weeks to complete.

Example projects
* Software/tool development
* Research
* Testing

What you need to provide?
* The project brief
* Someone to mentor and act as contact for the in2securITy participant
* Time and patience (primarily remote contact)
* A reference on completion

Projects could be tools or scripts you would love to have but have never had time to write or perhaps research into a technical or security area that would be useful to you or your organisation.

Placements

A placement is a period of unpaid work experience in which an in2securITy participant can work within an organisation in a relevant and challenging position and gain valuable experience and references.

Placements should last 2-6 weeks. Details to be negotiated between company and in2securITy participant.

Example placements
* Software/tool development
* Research
* Testing
* Systems design

What you need to provide?
* A seat in your office
* Defined tasks to complete (must be security related)
* Someone to mentor and act as contact for the in2securITy participant
* Time and patience
* A reference on completion

Placements can be a great way to get a fresh perspective inside your organisation as well as work with some enthusiastic talent. In addition, an extra pair of hands never goes amiss!

We know how busy you all are (really we know) but this is important. We will be reaching out directly to groups, individuals and businesses so don't be offended if we come knocking. This scheme gives a lot of value so please try to give a project or placement if you can.
