The Wishlist

Almost everything we do here at in2securITy is carried out by volunteers from the community. If you would like to help out in2securITY but without the formality of sponosrship, there are many things that you could donate and make a difference.

The List

Graphic Design and Marketing

Whether you are just starting out in your field and looking for portfolio work or you just have a bit of spare time and talent, we could use your time and skills.

Writers and Bloggers

Every community needs a wealth of voices and opinions, the more we have the more informative we can be. We need security professionals at all stages of their careers and in every specialism to write for our blogs, contribute articles and suggest resources. From book reviews to personal profiles, we have a place for it all.

Even if you have yet to make your way as a professional, you could still get involved as a writer – perhaps charting out your experiences on the scheme or the challenges you are facing as you try to get into security. No experience necessary – just something to say.

An Accountant

Like every organisation of its type, in2securITy is legally registered and submits its accounts on an annual basis. If you are a chartered accountant or know one that would agree to spare an hour or so once a year , we could use your talents to help in2securITy focus its limited funds on education rather than administration.

Rooms for talks and labs

Does your organisation have access to rooms suitable to hosting talks or hands on sessions? Whether as a one off or on a monthly basis, in2securITy aims to host a series of talks and hands on sessions to allow participants to gain skills and experience. We could use large spaces with power supplies and desks. If you also have access to cross country video conferencing facilities – that would be amazing too!

Managed Web Hosting

We are currently using the Amazon cloud to host (it was free for the first year) but would like to move to a managed, New Zealand based hosting company. We have pretty much no budget and need a company who are familiar with the IT security community...

Speakers

Got something to say but not much of a writer? Want to give a talk to an audience of eager and enthusiastic participants, all looking to find there way in the complex world of security? Do you do something in security that would be of interest to others just starting out? Do you run an organisation that would like to spread its message? Come talk at our meetings.

Mentors

Mentors are valuable tools to those new in any field, IT security is no exception. See the[LINK:: mentoring] section for more details of whats involved.

Regional Representatives

Although the core of the in2securITy team is Auckland based, we aim to engage with participants across New Zealand. Sadly, the laws of physics prevent us from running talks and and meetings in multiple cities at once. If you think you have what it takes to run meetings, hands on sessions and talks on our behalf – why not become our representative in your area? Informal training provided and all materials will be shared across regions.
